  2. Excalibur recognizes LaTeX, AMS-LaTeX, SliTeX, psfig, and
  3. epic commands. It also recognizes a fair number of plain TeX
  4. commands.

  6. Excalibur knows about accented characters and ligatures. This
  7. should help non English speaking users. They can add words with
  8. accents and ligatures to their dictionaries.
  9. 
  10. Excalibur knows about discretionary hyphens. You can add
  11. words with discretionary hyphens to the dictionary too.
  12. 
  13. Excalibur will optionally ignore text in the \tt font. This
  14. is very useful for people (like us) who are in computer science
  15. and often sprinkle their documents with file names in the
  16. typewriter font.

  18. Excalibur ignores everything that appears in the following
  19. environments: math, displaymath, eqnarray, eqnarray*,
  20. subeqnarray, equation, verbatim, verbatim*, cprog, and alltt. It
  21. also ignores everything that appears within \[É\], \(É\),
  22. $É$, $$É$$ and \beginttÉ\endtt.

  24. Excalibur ignores the following AMS-LaTeX environments:
  25. align, align*, alignat, alignat*, comment, equation*, gather,
  26. gather*, multline, multline*, xalignat, xalignat*, xxalignat, and
  27. xxalignat*.

  29. Excalibur ignores the arguments of \verb and \verb*
  30. commands.
  31. 
  32. Excalibur is 32-bit clean and System 7 friendly.

  34. Excalibur will warn you if it thinks it found a LaTeX syntax
  35. error in a file. This usually means that you have unmatched
  36. braces, unmatched \beginÉ\end pairs, or an unmatched math mode
  37. delimiter.
